Dr Leslie Ang is a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist at Shinagawa Eye Centre, Singapore.

Dr Ang completed his undergraduate medical training at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine of the National University of Singapore in 2005. There, he also received the gold medal and book prize in Ophthalmology.

He has been practicing Ophthalmology since 2009 and completed his specialty training in 2016 from the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute in Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Following this, he sub-specialised in both medical and surgical retina concerns and worked as a consultant in the Ng Teng Fong General Hospital of the National University Health System.

Dr Ang is one of the few local ophthalmologists to have completed 2 separate overseas fellowships in vitreoretinal surgery from the Royal Perth Hospital and the prestigious Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.

During his fellowships, Dr Ang also had the privilege of working with numerous internationally recognised retinal surgeons. In the process, he gained vast experience operating on difficult retinal cases, including ones involving acute retinal detachments, complicated cataract surgery, secondary lens implants, complex retinal surgeries from diabetic eye disease or chronic retinal detachments and ocular trauma.

In addition, Dr Ang has been managing a wide variety of medical retinal conditions during his years as a consultant in Singapore as well as during his fellowships.

His expertise covers a wide range of general ophthalmological conditions, as well as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and genetic conditions such as retinal dystrophies. Furthermore, he does laser procedures and performs cataract surgeries, where he strives to deliver the best visual and refractive outcome for his patients.
